Manganese ore

Manganese Ore is essential to iron and steel production by virtue of its sulfur-fixing, deoxidizing, and alloying properties. Over ninety percent of manganese ore is used as deoxidizer, desulfurizer for ironmaking and steelmaking industries and raw material for producing ferromanganese. The countries which are abundant in manganese ores in the world are: South Africa, Ukraine, Gabon, Australia, Brazil, Georgia, India in turn. South Africa and Ukraine account for over 80% of the worlds identified resources. The basic reserve in China reaches 560 Mt Year of 2004 with a very low average grade of 21%. It mainly distributes in Guangxi, Hunan, Guizhou, Yunnan and Sichuan.
